Mission Composer
Tasks, areas, timing, constraints and authority become a machine-readable mission picture.
AUTONOMOUS NAVY / MARITIME C2
Mission, simulation and command software for coherent maritime autonomy across heterogeneous crewed and uncrewed systems.
Make heterogeneous maritime assets act as one coherent operational system.
Mission intent, fleet state and operator authority in one operational picture.
Compose, rehearse, orchestrate and replay distributed maritime missions.
Connect synthetic assets first; connect external autonomy stacks through adapters.
OPERATOR-FACING C2
The demonstrator turns the architecture into software: mission composition, synthetic fleet simulation, fleet-state aggregation, degraded-state visualisation and deterministic event replay.
ONE CONTROL PLANE
Tasks, areas, timing, constraints and authority become a machine-readable mission picture.
Asset, communications, navigation confidence and mission status are normalised into one operator view.
Synthetic fleets, scenario injection and deterministic replay turn architecture into testable behaviour.
The interface surfaces the state changes that require human attention and keeps authority explicit.
COLLABORATIVE SYSTEM-OF-SYSTEMS
The integration problem is larger than any vessel. Autonomous Navy is being built around the interfaces that matter in European defence and maritime security: command-and-control integration, Federated Mission Networking, modelling and simulation, critical maritime infrastructure and heterogeneous crewed and uncrewed assets. For semi-autonomous surface-vessel programmes, that means remote monitoring and control, human-on-the-loop supervision and collaborative operation across different unmanned assets.
SELECTED TRACTION / 2021—2026
A continuous engineering line from a physical autonomous vessel to fleet-level mission software — with public programme, technology and security milestones along the way.
A real autonomous maritime demonstrator moved the work from architecture into launch, operation and test.
Satellite navigation, perception and mission planning entered the architecture while the Schlei became a large real-world validation environment.
High-dynamic maritime runs pushed recognition and classification under motion and changing relative geometry.
European programme support advanced hydrogen and fuel-cell work while BlackBoats brought adaptable autonomous maritime systems into the security mission.
Critical-infrastructure protection connected maritime autonomy with operators, security authorities and defence context.
Mission composition, simulation, fleet state and operator-facing C2 become the next software layer.
ALREADY ON THE MAP
The public record contains external anchors across transport research, space incubation, European innovation, maritime security and startup validation. The selected milestones above are linked to their sources; product claims and historical heritage remain separated.
BayStartUP publicly named Autonomous Navy from Landshut as third-place winner and described a software-based system architecture for secure, decentralised operation of autonomous maritime fleets.
Boston Consulting Group’s public 2026 Vordenker:innen announcement lists Diana S. Engelhard among 29 honourees in the Handelsblatt × BCG initiative.
Historical founder experience: ZeroOne was developed through Unleash Future Boats as an autonomous maritime system. This is relevant heritage and is explicitly not presented as an Autonomous Navy product.
